Smith attended the Los Angeles Recording Workshop from 1994 to 1995. She started working for Advantage Audio in April 1995, and has been working there ever since

Smith has nearly one hundred credits from her work as a dialogue editor. Her work can be seen in Star vs. the Forces of Evil, The Fairly OddParents, Gravity Falls, Phineas and Ferb, Kaijudo: Rise of the Duel Masters, Transformers Prime, Fish Hooks, Kim Possible, Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, The Critic, Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Recess, and the Hercules TV series.
